Campus Software Library redesign coming Mar 25

On Tuesday, March 25, we will launch a new link and look for the Campus Software Library. Your current links and access will automatically redirect to the new site.

What is the Campus Software Library?

The software available in the library is licensed under various agreements for your use, at no charge. The license agreements covering use of this software give you the right to install it on UW-owned computers—and, in some cases, on personally-owned computers as well. A few examples of software available in the library include:

• Microsoft Defender Antivirus for personally-owned Windows devices
• Adobe Creative Cloud for graphic design web development, and image and video editing
• TechSmith Camtasia for the preparation of instructional materials by faculty and staff (student workers can also use Camtasia to prep instructional materials)
• MATLAB for numerical computation, visualization, data analysis and programming
• SmartDraw for diagramming flowcharts, org charts, mind maps and more

What is changing?

Over the past several months, we have modernized and rebuilt the Campus Software Library’s back-end code base to comply with security needs and add functionality for future development. Throughout the process, we incorporated feedback from support cases, direct conversations and organizational meetings to develop a new front-end for the service that is scalable and editable with a modern look and feel. We remain committed to continuous improvement and welcome your suggestions for enhancing the Campus Software Library experience.
