Active Directory Migrations: September project update

Campus Active Directory
The Active Directory (AD) Migrations Team has been working diligently to help departments migrate to Campus Active Directory (CAD). Here are some recent updates and milestones, plus a look ahead at what’s on the horizon.

Recent progress

  • The team started early planning for moving to the new directory system with Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE), Engineering Research Center (ERC), and University Health Services Departmental Support.
  • 3 departments have completed their device migrations: Helically Symmetric eXperiment (HSX) and Traffic Operations & Safety Laboratory (TOPS) in the College of Engineering and Neurosurgery in the School of Medicine and Public Health.

What’s ahead

  • The team is partnering with Quisitive to define the scope, develop a project plan and draft a charter for migrating CAE to Campus Active Directory. The first in-person workshop will be on November 4.
  • The team will create and approve a process for handling special cases and a policy for departments that choose to stay outside the central directory system and accept that risk.
