Active Directory Migrations: March project updates

Campus Active Directory
Active Directory (AD) Migrations Team has been working diligently to help departments migrate into Campus Active Directory (CAD). Here are some recent updates and milestones, plus a look ahead at what’s on the horizon.

Recent progress

  • The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology has completed the device migration and will now transition to server migration before decommissioning.
  • The School of Veterinary Medicine has completed migrations and decommissioned its old domain.
  • The Wisconsin Institute of Discovery will kick off a Quisitive-guided migration on Friday, April 4.

What’s ahead

  • The project team will work to better understand which departments have not yet selected a migration path or established a timeframe.
  • Future need: develop a process for handling exceptions and a policy for departments to accept the risk of staying outside of CAD.
