Active Directory Migrations: December project updates

Campus Active Directory
The Active Directory (AD) Migrations Team has been working diligently to help departments migrate into Campus Active Directory (CAD). Here are some recent updates and milestones, plus a look ahead at what’s on the horizon.

Recent progress

  • The Geography Department decommissioned its domain controller at the end of December 2024.
  • Quisitive began onboarding the School of Education. Pre-migration activities are in full swing and will continue through 2025.
  • On January 28, the CAD Team will work with DoIT Departmental Support to migrate Administration Innovation and Planning, a former part of Administrative Information Management Services.

What’s ahead

  • The Obstetrics & Gynecology Department will migrate all users by the end of January 2025, with a decommission targeted for February 2025.
  • The Pathology Department, guided by the CAD Team, is on track to complete test migrations by the end of December.
  • Pam Jones, the Quisitive project manager, will take on many of Tiffany Thayer’s project management responsibilities for AD Migrations. Tiffany will maintain the AD Migrations Program but transition most day-to-day project management to Pam. They will complete the hand-off and training throughout January 2025.
