Active Directory Migrations: 2nd quarter project update

The Active Directory (AD) Migrations Team has been working diligently to help departments migrate to Campus Active Directory (CAD). Here are some recent updates and milestones, plus a look ahead at what’s on the horizon.
Recent progress
- Pediatrics shut down its domain in October. Neurosurgery completed its migrations in October. The Orthopedics & Rehabilitation and Urology departments successfully completed migrations in November. The Wisconsin Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory completed migrations and fully shut down its domain in November.
- Athletics and the School of Computer, Data & Information Sciences both kicked off pre-migration work and are highly engaged, eager to move forward, and positive about the Quisitive partnership.
- The Wisconsin School of Business is steadily accelerating its migration process each month, aiming to complete it by March 2026.
- DoIT Departmental Services is showing strong performance migrating former Administrative Information Management Services (AIMS) clients, reaching 66% migration completion and steadily improving velocity almost every month.
What’s ahead
- The team is implementing a Temporary Authorization to Operate (ATO) process, with two departmental submissions already under review.
- The team thoroughly reviewed and revised the communications plan template for departmental end-users to improve their experience and reduce reschedule rates.
- The School of Medicine & Public Health is now about 90% migrated. The team expects to fully complete the process and shut down all domains by February or March.
