Active Directory Migrations: October project updates

Campus Active Directory
The Active Directory Migrations team has been working diligently with departments that want to migrate into Campus Active Directory (CAD). Here are some recent updates and milestones, plus a look ahead at what’s on the horizon for the project.

Recent progress

  • The team wrapped up a guided migration with the Shared Services Informatics Technology (SSIT) in the School of Medicine and Public Health.
  • The team began migration preparation work with the Department of Pediatrics. They aim to begin migrating users and devices on November 27.
  • The project leadership team has started orienting awarded vendors from the request for proposals on the next steps in our vendor selection process for additional migration support.
  • The project change manager concluded listening sessions with departments that manage their own domains and will share themes and begin planning the next steps based on the feedback.

What’s ahead

  • Select and onboard a third-party vendor to expedite Active Directory migrations across campus.
  • Use the listening session findings and follow-up engagements to inform project action planning and identify migration sequencing and the high-level timeline.
