UW Design Community: Designing action with applied compassion
In the October UW Design Community session, we explored the differences between empathy and compassion—and why the difference might matter in our work as designers. The session also included a guided mindfulness practice and practical tips for incorporating compassion-driven practices into your daily design routine.
Our guest, Trudy Watt, AIA NOMA, is a designer, educator and pragmatic optimist who builds platforms, programs and projects to maximize compassionate design-driven collaboration for equitable well-being and a more regenerative future. She is currently working to expand transdisciplinary life-centered design in higher education.
