DoIT’s Web Hosting Service provides a community test and production web hosting environment for UW–‍Madison and its affiliates.

We host web accounts on various platforms, which offer support for  LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP), Windows/IIS/ASP.NET, Java/Tomcat, Node.js, Ruby on Rails and more.

All accounts include:

• Custom domain(s) (e.g. mydept.wisc.edu, subdept.mydept.wisc.edu, etc.) with options for .orgs and .coms.  Please review the Office of Strategic Communications Website Domain Policy and accompanying procedure.
• Distinct test and production web hosting environments.
• Intuitive Web Control Panel for site management and various publishing options with version control built in for GitLab.
• Un-metered bandwidth
• Automated nightly backups of files and databases
• Statistical reports and access and error log viewer
• Additional quota options above the service level allocation.
• Complete service documentation and technical support
